Members of the FIIRO governing board, headed by Alhaji Gwazo met to deliberate on vital issues aimed at ensuring the smooth flow of activities in the Institute recently.
They carried out a thorough inspection of projects that are ongoing in the Institute as well as completed projects which were commissioned for use. Some of the projects inspected and commissioned are the newly procured and installed Pulp Digester in which Dr. Owolabi, the Deputy Director of the division concerned, enumerated on the benefits of the equipment in advancing R&D.
MULTIPURPOSE FRUIT DRYER
The Institute's Training Pavilion which houses a new state of the art Multipurpose Dryer was also commissioned by the Board Chairman. The team also inspected the newly renovated laboratories which include - the Microbiology lab, the Aflatoxin and the Mycotoxin laboratories. The PPD offices and other offices newly constructed in the second floor of the Engineering building were also inspected as well as the FIIRO clinic which was also given a facelift. All of these offices come with brand new furniture and fittings to make work environment conducive for members of staff and in turn improve productivity.
Speaking at the end of the extensive visit the board chairman expressed his satisfaction and tagged the entire projects as "funds well spent." He commended the Overseeing Director General, Dr. Mrs Yemisi Asagbra for her effective supervision of the projects.
